Developers Benefits
Speed
The amount of time taken on a building site to erect the structure has a direct impact on the building site energy consumption. The more days that products take to install, the more electricity and resources are used, whether from lights, air-conditioned site offices, transporting workers to and from the site, etc. Precast Aerated Concrete products are lightweight, enabling them to be large format. The size and weight advantage allows them to be installed quicker and with less equipment than conventional construction. This “Power of Speed” saves the time and money and it also saves the environment.
Light Weight
PAC blocks and panels have a mass in the range of 470 kg/m3 to 650 kg/m3, which is only a quarter of the weight of conventional concrete. By reducing a buildings’ mass, support foundations, piles, columns and beams can all be reduced in size, reinforcement and strength. This saves time and, of course, money. The light weight allows PAC blocks to be large format, yet easily and quickly lifted and placed. The low weight of PAC gives builder the “Power of Speed”. Low mass buildings are cheaper to construct and give quicker returns on investment. For soft sandy ground, PAC is the ideal lightweight building solution.
Quick to Install
The light weight and good workability of PAC means it is very quick to install on site. The blocks are 50% longer than traditional concrete blocks, meaning more square meters per man can be laid each day. We call this the “Power of Speed”. Fast construction benefits the contractor and reduces financing overheads for the owner. PAC projects can finish months ahead of schedule, due to the “Power of Speed”. Imagine how much can be saved on labor, accommodation, construction equipment rental, scaffolding, cranes and mortgage financing interest when a building project finishes quickly. For a faster return on investment - choose PAC.
Ecomomical
Competitive Price: PAC is positioned in the market to be a competitive alternative to other concrete or masonry building systems.
Speed Savings: Large format blocks and panels will result in quick installation and further less overhead, labor, accommodation, transport, bank interest, hire fees, scaffold rent, crane rent, etc. A contractor can build more structures per annum using less resources.
Accuracy savings: Smooth walls equals less plaster. Half of the plaster material and two thirds plaster labor savings in this area alone can make PAC finished walls the best price, as well as best value.
Mass Savings: Light weight is a very important factor because it will result in small foundations, reduced piling, smaller columns and beams, smaller support structures and less building cost.
Environmental Friendly
PAC has low embodied energy and a small “carbon footprint”. For every truck of raw materials we bring into our factory, four truck loads of PAC products are produced due to the expansion and aeration. Seldom are the Earths’ resources used more sparingly. At BENA, we recycle all trimmings and waste material with the only by - product of manufacture being harmless steam. Not only is PAC easy on the environment during manufacture, it reduces the volume (and therefore production energy) of other building materials on site, such as foundation concrete and steel. PAC keeps saving energy for the life of the building, due to its exceptional insulation and energy efficiency
Energy Saving
The air bubbles in the PAC material, provides thermal insulation levels many times the ratings of comparable thickness of other masonry products. In most cases, PAC will provide all the thermal insulation needed, without requirement for extra batting, foams, foils or wraps. PAC buildings are cool in summer and comfortable in winter. This significantly reduces heating and cooling costs for the occupant, with electricity savings of up to 60% being reported. By lowering air conditioning energy consumption, PAC is gentle on the environment for the entire life cycle of a building.
