Home Builders Benefits

Speed
The amount of time taken on a building site to erect the structure has a direct impact on the building site energy consumption. The more days that products take to install, the more electricity and resources are used, whether from lights, air-conditioned site offices, transporting workers to and from the site, etc. Precast Aerated Concrete products are lightweight, enabling them to be large format. The size and weight advantage allows them to be installed quicker and with less equipment than conventional construction. This “Power of Speed” saves the time and money and it also saves the environment.

Economical
Competitive Price: PAC is positioned in the market to be a competitive alternative to other concrete or masonry building systems.

Speed Savings: Large format blocks and panels will result in quick installation and further less overhead, labor, accommodation, transport, bank interest, hire fees, scaffold rent, crane rent, etc.

Accuracy savings: Smooth walls equals less plaster. Half of the plaster material and two thirds plaster labor savings in this area alone can make PAC finished walls the best price, as well as best value.

Mass Savings: Light weight is a very important factor because it will result in small foundations, reduced piling, smaller columns and beams, smaller support structures and less building cost.

Energy saving
The air bubbles in the PAC material, provides thermal insulation levels many times the ratings of comparable thickness of other masonry products. In most cases, PAC will provide all the thermal insulation needed, without requirement for extra batting, foams, foils or wraps. PAC buildings are cool in summer and comfortable in winter. This significantly reduces heating and cooling costs for the occupant, with electricity savings of up to 60% being reported. By lowering air conditioning energy consumption, PAC is gentle on the environment for the entire life cycle of a building.

Noise resistant
Noise is blocked by reflecting sound waves and absorbing them. Unlike most building materials, PAC does both tasks extremely well. Most frequencies bounce off the hard surface, while other frequencies are diffused in the cellular, bubble-filled interior of the blocks and panels. A PAC building has a calm, quiet interior, for peaceful living. PAC is commonly used for walls between hotel rooms or apartments, cinemas, around home theatres or next to noisy industrial works spaces. PAC has greater sound blocking capabilities than equal thicknesses of other building products. Wherever you have unwanted noise, PAC can bring peace and quiet.

Non-toxic
PAC is completely non - toxic. The main ingredients are sand, cement, lime and water - all fused into a crystalline inert material. There are no harmful gases, dusts or toxic substances of any kind in a PAC building. PAC is not a food source for mould, insects or rodents, so it will not harbor bacteria. It is safe to use and healthy to live in, PAC buildings give peace of mind to builders and building occupants alike. Avoid health problems that some harsh chemical based building materials have, by building with PAC blocks and panels.

Fire resistant
PAC is made from fine sand, cement and lime, so it does not burn. Additionally, this cellular aerated material resists heat transfer better than other masonry products, so reinforcing within the PAC is protected from softening and loss of strength due to extreme heat. PAC is made from powdered ingredients and so the lack of dissimilar aggregate sizes means that it does not crack and crumble under thermal expansion, like conventional concrete can. PAC is used to fireproof dividing walls, industrial spaces, homes and offices. Wherever fire is a risk, you can be sure PAC will protect lives.

Breathable
External humidity and internal moisture vapor from cooking, washing and clothes drying affect the moisture content of building elements. Masonry walls made from dense, low permeable products, like conventional concrete, can suffer from a build up of humidity related moisture, due to low rates of vapor transfer. This moisture often causes condensation problems on the cooler, air conditioned interior, such as blistering or damage to the coatings and dampness, unhealthy fungus, or mould growth. PAC has good vapor transmission, allowing a building to breathe, pressure equalize and maintain a healthy interior environment, while still keeping the weather out.
